What You’ll Do
As a Junior Merchant, you’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Planning, Design, and Product Development to execute product strategies and drive business results.
- Collaborate with Sales and Planning teams to understand monthly performance and forecast future product needs, ensuring development aligns with seasonal trends and key retail moments
- Prepare detailed design handoffs, including inspiration, color direction, assortment plans, pricing targets, and timelines to bring concepts to life
- Support graphics and packaging development by providing clear direction on trend boards, displays, and presentation materials
- Manage costing processes by coordinating with Product teams, reviewing cost cards, and ensuring accuracy against target margins
- Take ownership of gross margin performance across assigned accounts
- Review and approve pre-production samples, providing timely and detailed feedback
- Monitor and analyze weekly sales reports to identify best sellers and opportunities for improvement
- Continuously research trends through platforms like WGSN, market shopping, and competitive analysis
- Shop retail stores and analyze competitors to identify new product opportunities, materials, and merchandising ideas
- Ensure all product development timelines are met so products are delivered on time for presentation and launch
- Support additional merchandising initiatives and projects as needed
What You Bring
- 1-5 years of experience as a Jr. merchant or related field
- A strong eye for trends, product, and detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and personalities
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
Education
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Fashion, or a related field
