WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Lead Merchant, Men’s Training Apparel Channel Merchandising North America will report directly to the Sr. Director, NA Training Merchandising. This role is responsible for shaping consumer-led, channel-specific assortments that connect Nike Training to Sport and Sport Culture across the North America marketplace.
Training is a critical expression of Nike’s sport business. This team drives the intersection of product, sport, and marketplace, ensuring assortments are both authentic to the brand and differentiated by channel. We are seeking a self-driven individual with a passion for consumer and Sport geared towards making a positive impact on our Training businesses. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and exudes strong communication and influential skills rooted in a high-level of retail and merchandising acumen. This individual should also comfortable working autonomously while being solution oriented.
This role requires a strong consumer-first mindset, with the ability to translate marketplace insights into clear assortment strategies. The ideal candidate combines merchandising expertise, marketplace acumen, and storytelling, with the ability to balance creativity and analytics to deliver results.
This individual will operate with an enterprise mindset, influencing across functions and ensuring alignment from line planning through marketplace execution. This role is the intersection between art and science. Success in this role requires the ability to connect strategy to execution across teams and operate effectively in a highly collaborative environment.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Product Creation, Business, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
4-7+ years of experience in Merchandising, Buying, Sales, or Product Management
Proven ability to translate consumer, cultural, and marketplace insights into channel-specific assortments
Strong understanding of the North America marketplace, including wholesale and Nike Direct dynamics
Experience building and managing assortments across multiple channels or accounts
Strong product and style acumen with a point of view on sport culture and trends
Ability to identify and apply macro and micro trends to serve the consumer
Strong communication and storytelling skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners and bring people together
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail across tools, timelines, and seasonal readiness
Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with strong cross-functional partnership skills
Strong process and operational discipline
Provides direction and mentorship to teammates
Self-directed, independent, and dedicated
Solves problems using limited information and implements solutions with the ability to foresee most future implications
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
In this role, you will lead and support the development of channel-specific assortment strategies for Men’s Training Apparel in North America.
You will:
Build and manage assortments tailored to key channels, ensuring clear differentiation across wholesale partners and Nike Direct
Translate global product direction into marketplace-relevant plans that reflect consumer demand and channel opportunities
Partner with Sales to align assortments to account strategies and marketplace needs
Collaborate with Planning to ensure the right depth, flow, and life cycle management of product
Identify opportunities for trend adoption and marketplace growth within training
Support cross-functional alignment across Merchandising, Marketing, Planning, and Business Operations
Ensure systems and tools are accurate and on time, enabling seamless seasonal execution
Contribute to storytelling that brings assortments to life in a way that is compelling, culturally relevant, and consistent across channels

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will partner closely with:
North America Training Merchandising leadership
Sales teams managing wholesale partners such as Foot Locker, DSG, and key specialty accounts
Planning, Marketing, and Business Operations teams
Global Merchandising partners to align on product intent and seasonal direction
