Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Merchandiser role based in Chennai. The Merchandiser will coordinate end-to-end order execution, including sampling, approvals, production follow-up, and on-time delivery. Responsibilities include communicating with buyers and internal teams, preparing and reviewing tech packs, tracking materials and trims, and ensuring product quality and compliance with buyer specifications. The Merchandiser will also prepare reports, maintain accurate documentation, and proactively resolve issues related to timelines, costs, and quality.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Proven Customer Service and client relationship management skills to support buyer needs and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Sales and Retail experience, with an understanding of merchandising principles, assortment planning, and consumer preferences.
- Basic Marketing knowledge to support product positioning, trend analysis, and market-aligned collections.
- Experience in apparel or leather goods merchandising, preferably in export or manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical, planning, and time-management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); familiarity with ERP or production tracking systems is an advantage.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
