Duties
- Operate sewing machines to craft, alter, or repair garments with precision and care
- Consult with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and measurements
- Assist clients by providing expert advice on fabric choices, styles, and fitting options
- Ensure all garments meet quality standards through careful inspection and finishing
- Manage multiple sewing projects efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safety and productivity
- Handle basic math calculations for measurements, pricing, and adjustments accurately
Experience
- Prior experience in fashion retail or garment construction is highly preferred
- Proficiency with sewing machines and garment sewing techniques is essential
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically
- Knowledge of sewing machine operation, fabric types, and basic garment fitting principles
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and pricing
- Familiarity with sewing tools, patterns, and garment finishing processes is a plus
