Job Summary

An established and growing retailer in Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer with a minimum of 5 years of buying experience in fashion, This key leadership role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of fashion trends. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting commercially viable products that align with the brand’s vision and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Selection & Development

Identify and develop key product ranges in line with seasonal trends and brand strategy.

Work closely with design and merchandising teams to curate collections that meet market demand.

Experience working with premium brands is an advantage.

Supplier Management & Negotiation

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.

Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to ensure profitability and quality.

Source new suppliers to maintain a competitive advantage.

Stock Management

Monitor stock levels to ensure optimum inventory levels.

Analyse sales data and trends to make informed purchasing decisions.

Manage product replenishment to prevent overstock or stock outs.

Market Analysis & Trend Forecasting

Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.

Conduct regular market research to identify opportunities and threats.

Provide insights to inform future collections and strategies.

Team Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with merchandising, marketing, and retail teams to ensure alignment.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Contribute to overall department goals and business objectives.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in fashion buying .

Proven ability to manage the full buying cycle, from product development to stock management.

Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.

Analytical mindset with a detail-oriented approach.

Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Experience using stock management systems and data analysis tools.

Additional Skills

Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and inventory accuracy.

High levels of self-motivation and initiative.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
