Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Design Director, the Senior Designer will play a key role in driving the creative vision and execution of seasonal collections across RTW and special projects. This role requires a highly creative, detail-oriented designer with strong luxury fashion experience, exceptional taste level, and the ability to lead design development from concept through production.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of luxury ready-to-wear, embellishment, fabrication, and silhouette, with the ability to balance elevated design with commercial viability. This position works closely with the Design Director while mentoring and collaborating with the Designer and Assistant Designer on the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Design Director to develop and execute seasonal collection concepts aligned with the brand vision and business goals
- Lead design development across categories from initial concept, sketching, draping, and fabric selection through fittings and final approvals
- Research trends, vintage references, runway direction, embellishment techniques, and luxury market competitors to inform seasonal direction
- Create detailed design flats, technical sketches, and development packages for product development and production teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, production, technical design, and factories to ensure design integrity and timely execution
- Participate in fittings and provide clear direction on silhouette, proportion, construction, and finishing details
- Source luxury fabrics, trims, embroideries, and embellishments with a strong understanding of elevated materials and craftsmanship
- Support the management and mentorship of the Designer and Assistant Designer, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
- Ensure all collections maintain the brand’s elevated aesthetic while meeting business objectives and delivery timelines
- Maintain strong organizational skills across multiple seasons and projects simultaneously
Qualifications
- 6–10+ years of design experience within luxury or contemporary luxury fashion brands
- Strong background in women’s ready-to-wear with expertise in luxury eveningwear, occasionwear, embellishment, or elevated dressing preferred
- Proven ability to design commercially successful collections while maintaining a high-fashion aesthetic
- Exceptional taste level, trend awareness, and understanding of luxury consumer positioning
- Strong sketching, draping, and technical design skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience working directly with overseas factories and development teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
Salary $115,000-$135,000
