Placed by Leon is currently partnering with a prestigious international luxury watch brand to recruit a Boutique Director for one of the most significant locations within its global retail network.

Situated in the heart of Mayfair, this role offers the opportunity to lead not only a flagship boutique but also a dedicated private-client environment focused on hosting VIP appointments, collector events, bespoke experiences, and relationship management with some of the industry's most valued clients.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a balance of commercial acumen, strategic thinking, people development and exceptional client engagement. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the business's long-term growth strategy whilst ensuring an elevated, highly personalised client experience at every touchpoint.

The Opportunity

This is not a traditional boutique management position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the location, identifying opportunities for growth, strengthening relationships within the UHNW and HNW community, and creating a culture of excellence throughout the team.

You will work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term business plans, analyse market opportunities, review performance data and implement initiatives that support sustainable growth and increased market share.

Alongside this, you will oversee the execution of high-profile client events, exclusive partnerships, product presentations and brand activations designed to attract new clientele whilst strengthening relationships with existing collectors and VIP clients.

Client Development & UHNW Engagement

At the heart of this role is client development.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of relationship-led luxury retail and be comfortable engaging directly with UHNW and HNW clientele, collectors, entrepreneurs, family offices and influential members of the luxury community.

You will be responsible for driving a sophisticated clienteling strategy across the boutique, ensuring that client relationships are nurtured, developed and retained over the long term.

This role requires someone who genuinely enjoys building relationships, hosting clients, attending events and creating memorable experiences that drive loyalty, advocacy and repeat business.

You will act as a brand ambassador both inside and outside the boutique, representing the Maison at events and developing meaningful connections within the Mayfair luxury ecosystem.

Leadership & Team Development

A key focus of this appointment is leadership.

The team currently consists of an Assistant Boutique Manager, Watch Maker, Senior Client Advisors and Client Advisors, and we're seeking someone with a genuine passion for coaching, mentoring and developing talent.

You'll be expected to create a high-performance culture built around accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and exceptional client service.

This includes implementing effective coaching routines, performance management frameworks and succession planning strategies whilst ensuring team members are supported in achieving both their personal and professional goals.

We're particularly interested in individuals who have successfully developed future leaders and created stable, engaged and high-performing teams.

Commercial & Operational Excellence

Whilst client experience remains paramount, the successful candidate must also possess strong commercial awareness and operational discipline.

You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of both the boutique and private client environment, maintaining the highest standards across presentation, compliance, security, stock management and overall execution.

You'll be expected to lead by example, remain visible on the shop floor, support the team, and ensure that operational excellence and the client experience remain closely connected.

This is a hands-on leadership role rather than one focused solely on administration and reporting.

Who We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with individuals who can demonstrate:

Significant luxury retail leadership experience within a flagship, boutique or high-value client environment

A proven track record of developing and retaining high-performing teams

Experience improving performance, navigating change, turning around challenging situations or successfully opening new locations

Strong CRM and clienteling expertise, particularly within UHNW and HNW client segments

Evidence of delivering successful client events, activations and relationship-building initiatives

Exceptional communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills

A deep understanding of the Mayfair luxury landscape and the expectations of its clientele

The credibility and confidence to represent a prestigious Maison both internally and externally

Previous experience within luxury watches is advantageous but not essential.

More important is a genuine appreciation for luxury craftsmanship, heritage, client experience and relationship-led business development.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a senior luxury leader looking to make a meaningful impact within a globally recognised Maison and play a key role in shaping its future growth.

The role pays up to 100K, plus a pool commission and an annual bonus, making the OTE extremely lucrative.
