Job Summary

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the stores department in a garment manufacturing and export unit. The role involves managing inventory, ensuring timely receipt and issue of raw materials and accessories, maintaining accurate stock records, coordinating with production and procurement teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP/Excel software and physical registers.
  • Conduct regular stock verification, cycle count, and annual physical inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the procurement department for replenishment.
  • Minimize inventory discrepancies, wastage, damage, and obsolete stock.
  • Maintain proper documentation for Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), Material Issue Slips (MIS), Stock Transfer Notes (STNs) and Return Notes.
  • Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices where applicable.
  • Coordinate with production, merchandising, planning, quality, and dispatch teams for smooth material flow.
  • Supervise store staff and allocate daily responsibilities.
  • Ensure proper labelling, bin management, and organized storage for easy traceability.
  • Maintain housekeeping and safety standards within the store.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and consumption reports for management.
  • Support internal, external, customer, and compliance audits.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of fabrics, trims, chemical, and finished goods.
  • Ensure adherence to company SOPs, statutory requirements, and export compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Diploma or certification in Inventory Management or Logistics will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in store and inventory management, preferably in a garment manufacturing or export house.
  • Experience handling fabrics, trims, and finished garments.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory management software is essential.
