Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Store Manager / General Manager to lead daily store operations in our Springfield, IL location. This role is responsible for driving sales performance, sourcing and acquiring inventory, managing a retail team, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
About Us
Clothes Mentor is a women’s resale retailer offering sizes 0–26, petites, and maternity. We specialize in buying and selling better-brand, gently used apparel and accessories—paying customers cash on the spot.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day store operations and overall performance
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and lead a team of 8–10 associates
- Drive sales and meet or exceed store performance goals
- Analyze sales, inventory, and expense reports to improve results
- Manage inventory intake, ensuring quality and style standards
- Oversee merchandising, product placement, and store presentation
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and brand standards
- Manage cash handling, payroll, expenses, and shrink control
- Deliver and coach exceptional customer service standards
- Execute local marketing initiatives and manage social media
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of retail store management experience (apparel preferred)
- Proven ability to drive sales and manage store performance
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Knowledge of current women’s fashion trends and brands
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for up to 8-10 hours per shift
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs
- Bend, kneel, climb ladders, and reach frequently
