We’re looking for an experienced stylist to join our team as an educator who is interested in working both behind the chair, and as part of our education team. The Refinery House isn’t just a Hair Salon, it’s community‑driven, people‑first, and built on the connections between us and our chairs. We have three hair salons and an education center. We’re a B Corp company, a green circle salon and use Davines products exclusively. Hours

& Location

Part Time or Full Time. Shifts are flexible. Candidate would participate on our education team – helping facilitate our Basic Hair Program, which operates Monday‑Thursday (from 5‑10hrs a week depending on preference). The education team members also participate in the development and execution of our advance training program and education team meetings (2hrs per month). If new to our team, preferred availability is hours in our District 1881 location.

Wages

Paid by Hour & Commission for services.

$25‑35/hr depending on experience and availability. Commission:
Competitive rates.

Experience & Expertise required

  • Preferably 5+ years of experience behind the chair, 3 years minimum.
  • Able to execute and articulate advanced colour and cut theory.
  • Willing to train in the specific methodology used in our hair program.
  • Able to work within a team environment.
  • Function as part of the education team in creating ongoing learning plans across the organization for all levels of stylists.
  • Participation in ongoing tasks and duties as they relate to the operation of the schools and shops.
  • Curriculum execution and development.
