Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Designer / Production Coordinator to join our team full-time. This role is essential in bridging design and production—ensuring that all garments are executed accurately from concept through final production.
The ideal candidate has strong technical design skills, is comfortable managing purchase orders and production timelines, and can effectively communicate with overseas vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Product Development
- Create detailed tech packs including garment specs, measurements, construction details, and trim information
- Review and approve fit samples, PP samples, and TOP samples
- Collaborate closely with design to ensure design intent is accurately translated into production
Production & PO Management
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs) for production
- Track production timelines and ensure on-time delivery
- Monitor bulk production and troubleshoot any issues that arise
Vendor Communication
- Communicate daily with overseas factories (primarily China) regarding:
- Tech packs and revisions
- Sample development
- Production updates and timelines
- Ensure clear, precise communication to avoid errors in production
Quality Control
- Review samples for fit, construction, and quality
- Identify and resolve issues before bulk production
- Maintain consistency across all styles and production runs
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in technical design and production
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and grading
- Experience creating tech packs
- Knows how to create flat sketch/tech insturction via Illustrator
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with overseas factories (China preferred)
- Mandarin speaking is a strong plus
- Experience in contemporary womenswear
