The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary Vice President / Head of Stores to lead the future of off-price retail. This role is a rare opportunity to shape the culture, operations, and customer experience of a company transforming how excess inventory finds new life. As the strategic hands-on leader of DFWh’s retail fleet, you’ll drive sales growth, operational excellence, and customer delight across all store locations, turning everyday shopping into an adventure of discovery.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of store leaders who embody DFWh’s entrepreneurial, customer-centric culture.
  • Oversee the full scope of store operations, from flexible merchandising presentation, and inventory flow to staffing, payroll, and financial performance.
  • Drive a “fresh deals fast” model that keeps product moving, and customers returning for the next great deal.
  • Ensure operational consistency and compliance while empowering each store to reflect its community and DFWh's personality of a fun and exciting place to treasure hunt.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, agility, and energy that motivates teams to overdeliver on results.
  • Collaborate with the merchant team to execute merchandising initiatives and optimize stores’ impact on profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and daily support to Store managers in achieving sales, production, and customer service goals.
  • Have pride and an entrepreneurial spirt to know what to “pile high and let it fly” front and center and what to present with more scarcity to generate the treasure hunt FOMO.
  • Conducts regular store visits to observe operations, assess performance, and provide coaching on execution and team development.
  • Promotes teamwork, accountability, and recognition to build a strong and engaged store culture while ensuring a differentiated customer experience.
  • Works closely with Merchandising, Marketing and Inventory Management teams to execute company strategies collaboratively.
  • Supports recruiting, onboarding, and training efforts to ensure each store is staffed with capable and motivated team members.
  • Works closely with Store Managers to maintain operational excellence in merchandising, production flow, safety, and visual presentation.
  • Ensures consistent application of policies, procedures, and company standards across all stores in the district.
  • Own in-store marketing execution, optimizing visual standards, seasonal campaigns, and local outreach efforts to consistently to grow traffic.
  • Communicates district plans to stores, and problem solves store related issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in store operations leadership, preferably within the off-price retail sector.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with a knack for fostering strong relationships across diverse teams.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of the business and market, applying that knowledge to best serve our customers and clients.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess processes, identify gaps, and devise solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with a penchant for detail-oriented work.
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
