About the Role:
We seek a driven and experienced Wholesale Sales Associate to lead sales efforts for Rebecca Taylor’s women’s apparel collections across Off-Price retailers and Department Stores. This role is ideal for someone with strong relationships with key buyers in either Off-Price or Department Store channels and a deep understanding of the contemporary and premium apparel market. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-motivated sales professional who can independently manage accounts, drive revenue growth, and work cross-functionally with internal teams, including design, merchandising, and logistics, to ensure seamless execution from product development to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Account Management
Develop strong relationships with Off-Price and Department Store buyers to drive business growth.
Identify new opportunities to expand the wholesale distribution and onboard new accounts.
Conduct appointments, line presentations, and market meetings to showcase seasonal collections and core programs.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and order quantities to maximize profitability while ensuring brand positioning.
Analyze sales performance and provide strategic recommendations to optimize future buys.
Buyer Engagement & Follow-Ups
Act as the primary point of contact for buyers, ensuring timely follow-ups, order confirmations, and reorders.
Provide insights on best-selling styles, market trends, and competitive landscape to help buyers make informed purchasing decisions.
Communicate updates on orders, deliveries, and inventory availability.
Work with buyers to develop exclusive product assortments or special buys that align with their business needs.
Collaboration with Design & Merchandising
Provide the design team with market feedback on pricing, styles, and trends to influence future collections.
Work with merchandising to ensure that product assortments align with the needs of Off-Price and Department Store partners.
Assist in planning inventory allocations and in-season strategies to maximize sell-through.
Logistics & Shipping Coordination
Partner with the operations and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
Communicate shipping timelines, tracking updates, and any potential delays to buyers.
Troubleshoot and resolve order discrepancies, chargebacks, and fulfillment issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
5+ years of wholesale sales experience in the women’s contemporary or premium apparel market.
Existing relationships with Off-Price or Department Store buyers in women’s apparel.
Strong knowledge of wholesale buying cycles, pricing structures, and retail strategies.
Ability to independently manage accounts, negotiate deals, and close sales.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and sales reporting tools.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Experience collaborating with design, merchandising, and logistics teams to ensure smooth execution.
