Forcast is looking for an experienced and motivatedFull-Time Womenswear Product Developerwith creative excellence to join our passionate and creative Design & Production team, based in Chipping Norton, NSW. With over 30 boutiques, Forcast is a contemporary Australian owned women’s fashion label. Since 1992, the proudly Australian owned Forcast group has grown to become a renowned fashion omni-channel retailer where we design, manufacture, wholesale and retail on-trend women’s clothing locally and internationally.

Reporting directly to the Creative Director and working closely with key stakeholders, thisWomenswear Product Developerwill be responsible for managing the womenswear range from start to finish. We are looking for a highly proactive and passionate Product Developer with creative excellence and an abundance of energy. You will have prior experience in developing unique, trend driven designs and will thrive within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The responsibilities of this role will include formation of new ideas and concepts through comprehensive international research and trend forecasting. You will achieve sales through continual design, development and innovation in line with agreed range plans, market direction and financial expectations while ensuring brand integrity. The ability to understand the competitive nature of this market whilst continuing to design innovative merchandise is of key importance.

What you’ll be doing

Develop well designed ranges in line with FORCAST brands and product line, within the critical path

Range plan management

Manage and attend fittings for all developments and maintain key standards on fit and quality while ensuring brand integrity

Forecast and interpret key concepts and trends that are true to the brand for the season.

Build colour palettes, source and develop fabric and trim, source artworks and print concepts

Communicate with the production team and suppliers on all aspects of product development.

Prepare tech packs to be sent to suppliers

Strategically drive forward the brand from a design point of view in conjunction with the marketing, buying and retail teams including styling and coordinating photoshoots

To be successful you will have:

At least two years of experience in a fast-paced Womenswear Designer/Product Developer role

A qualification/degree in Fashion Design or similar is advantageous

In-depth knowledge of textiles and garment construction across woven and knitwear and other

Experience in using InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop

Experience in using Microsoft Suite (Excel)

Highly organised with ability to work in a fast-paced environment, think critically, meet deadlines and be self-managed

Eye for detail, fashion forward and a love for fashion and the brand

A creative and collaborative approach to design with commercial acumen

A positive, dedicated and supportive can-do attitude
