Responsibilities
- Perform alterations and repairs on a variety of garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing clothing items.
- Consult with customers to understand their tailoring needs and provide professional recommendations.
- Use sewing machines and hand sewing techniques to execute precise garment modifications.
- Ensure all alterations meet quality standards while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
- Manage multiple tailoring projects efficiently, adhering to deadlines and customer expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace with proper tools and supplies for sewing and garment construction.
- Communicate clearly with customers about progress, timing, and any additional adjustments needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fashion retail or garment alteration services.
- Strong sewing skills with proficiency in operating sewing machines and hand stitching.
- Knowledge of garment construction techniques and fabric types.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to listen carefully and communicate effectively.
- Basic math skills for measuring, pattern adjustments, and fabric calculations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform detailed manual work accurately.
