Design Assistant | Fast Fashion Brand | Sydney | Full-Time | Onsite
We're looking for a Design Assistant to join a fast-paced, trend-driven fashion business where you'll work closely with the Design, Garment Tech and Product teams to help bring new collections to life. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants exposure across the entire product lifecycle from concept through to launch.
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting the Design team with tech packs, CADs and garment specifications
- Preparing and participating in fit sessions, recording comments and measurements
- Liaising daily with offshore suppliers and factories to track sample progress
- Managing samples, fabric swatches and coordinating photoshoots
- Raising purchase orders and maintaining production and range planning spreadsheets
- Tracking product development timelines and ensuring key deadlines are met
- Monitoring website product information for accuracy
- Researching fashion trends and supporting new product development
- Providing general administration support across the Product team
What we're looking for:
- 1-2+ years' experience in a Design Assistant or similar fashion product role
- Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills
- Intermediate Excel and Google Sheets experience
- Understanding of garment construction, fit and the product development process
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with offshore suppliers
- Someone proactive, adaptable and passionate about fashion
